Mercari fee FAQ

How much does Mercari take in 2026?

A flat 10% selling fee on the item price plus the shipping the buyer pays. There is no separate payment-processing fee for sellers — it was removed on January 6, 2025.

Wasn't there a 2.9% + $0.50 processing fee?

There was, until January 6, 2025. Mercari eliminated it when it reinstated the flat 10% selling fee. Today, 10% is the whole story for the sale itself; standard direct-deposit withdrawals are free.

Is the fee charged on shipping?

Yes — the 10% is calculated on item price plus buyer-paid shipping combined. If you offer free shipping, the label still costs you, so enter it in "Your shipping / label cost" to see your true net.

Do buyers pay a fee?

Yes, a 3.6% Buyer Protection fee on item + shipping. It doesn't reduce your payout, but it raises the buyer's all-in price — worth keeping in mind when you compare against eBay or Depop in the compare calculator.
